Board level cameras are particularly suitable for on-board surveillance or video control applications. They ease the integration of vision features as a module into a complex system involving multiple technologies. Depending on the constraints of the video processing unit, we will choose this or that interface.

AHD stands for "Analog High Definition".
AHD is a video standard launched by NextChip, a similar standard has been developed by Hikvision: TVI or HD-TVI iscomparable to AHD. These two standards are ideal solutions for upgrading an analog video system to digital. Indeed with AHD or TVI, it is not necessary to modify the existing cabling of CVBS video systems (PAL cameras / NTSC cameras) if a higher resolution is required. Likewise, modern analog video recorders also offer AHD and / or TVI inputs. In addition to being able to stream video in HD or full HD resolution through an existing analog wiring (PAL / NTSC), AHD cameras also offer CVBS output: it is possible to use the digital zoom of the camera without lowering the resolution (CVBS) and thus reach zoom factors close to 30x, without loss with a full HD camera equipped with a 10x optical zoom.
The main advantages of AHD are:
- Low latency (similar to CVBS)
- Low bandwidth (about 30 times less than uncompressed Full HD)
- Full HD long distance transmission without amplification (> 500 meters)
- Flexible wiring (twisted pair, CAT wiring, coaxial wiring)

The SDI (Serial Digital Interface) interface is widely used in medical or broadcast applications, and increasingly adopted in other industries due to low latency comparable to PAL/NTSC systems, transmission of an uncompressed image ( or compressed without loss with a factor of 6 for the EX-SDI ) avoiding quality losses via a standard coaxial cable. All models provide an HD-SDI or 3G-SDI video stream via an HD-SDI, EX-SDI interface as well as a PAL or NTSC stream via the CVBS interface.
These board level cameras can be supplied with fixed mount and lens or motorized vari-focal lens, please ask for your ideal configuration.
